Like having money in the bank

The weather has temporarily broken here in western New York. The power company has begun thier yearly tree trimming operations. I passed thier truck on the way to work yesterday. As I left work I backtracked my morning trip. Finding many of the wood piles still in place, I called ahead and told Pelenaka to be dressed to work and ready to go in 15 minutes. The days score was a trailer and a half of sugar maple and oak. coming home tonight I caught a tree trimmers truck at the gas station, it's been windy all day and thier are trees down. They told me the area they were heading. I'll head there in the morning, hoprfully there will be some left for the great scrounger.

That wood sure does feel like money in the bank.

I had a wood furnace years ago, but my wife was always complaining about it. So, when gas went through, i put in a gas furnace. We had a record cold month and my first bill was $400! My wife soon started complaining about the gas furnace. The more things change, the more they stay the same (except costs).

Free wood is money in the bank! We heat with wood, and love it. I am trying to do all in my power to try to cut costs wherever I can. Not long ago we got some wood this way too. I think it's great! Thanks for the follow, I am following your blog as well. Blessings jane

I rejoice in your good planning. There are times I wish there was an economical way to take all this good, burnable wood and ship it to some of the parts of the world that are desperate for firewood. Maybe a giant, slow moving barge or something. It will probably never happen.

Grace and peace.
